HOW TO BE AWARE OF FRAUD & SCAMS!!  Dear Valued Merchant, You are receiving this email because you are a very important merchant to Chosen Payments. Being a partner of ours we are dedicated to keeping all of our merchant informed of industry changes and anything that may affect our merchants at all times. That said, recently there have been a number of our merchants calling in to let us know that they have been receiving calls from people representing themselves as either Chosen Payments or Visa and MasterCard. These individuals are stating that they will be coming out to verity the credit card machine that you are using, verify you are PCI Compliant and will be looking to lower your rates when they  are at your location.   BEWARE this is a complete scam and is not part of Chosen Payments. These are unethical sales people getting crafty with their approach to try and get information from you. We warn you to not provide any information to these individuals and do not allow them to come to your location and look at your credit card terminal. There is sensitive data that can be taken from both your merchant statements as well as your credit card terminal.   If you get a call or have someone show up in person whom is not either your account manager at Chosen Payments, or anyone that can properly identify themselves as Chosen Payments, then you do not need to speak with them. If you feel that there is information you need or want to know simply give your Chosen Payments account manager a call or call the toll free office number below and we will advise you of anything that may be legitimate and or pertains to you.   Please note that part of this scam process is to promise you that they can save you money on your credit card processing fees. As a premier merchant of Chosen Payments when signing up with us we offer you a Rate Guarantee Program. We honor this program forever as long as you are processing with us. This means that at anytime if there is a  legitimate offer that someone made in which they proposed to save you money, and we verified it was legit, then we would either match the offer or let you out of your agreement with no penalty and give you $250. If you ever receive an offer that you feel is legitimate simply give this to your Chosen Payments representative with a completed Legitimacy Questionnaire. SALES MESSAGE By Adam Yaras  Vice President of Sales     "People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care".   Most of our merchants just want a simple, quick solution to their problem, as they are business owners and want things kept straightforward.  Listening to your merchants' needs and wants goes a long way.  The ability of being able to listen to your merchants starts with truly caring about them.  I myself love to go in for a hard close, but even if you close a merchant, that doesn't mean that they will stay with you for the duration of their business, thus why we need to treat each and every one of our merchants the same no matter how big or small.  One big thing that separates Chosen Payments from other merchant service companies is theChosen service they receive and pass along to others.  We care first and sell second!   News and Services  Merchant Education - Q2 Review   As we had great internal success with our 2012 Quarter 1 Review Call we wanted to invite all of the Chosen Payments merchants to a Quarter 2 review call.  This call will focus on educational items such as;  1-Interchange and how to understand it. 2-If I am paying 2.5% in fees where does this money go?  3- PCI Compliance and why it is mandatory? 4-IRS reporting for 2012.   We will be sending out moreinformation on the specific date and time of this call however it can be expected mid July.  If you have an interest please advise your Account Executive to add you to this call list.   IRS/TIN Process   As a merchant your tax filing information submitted on your merchant application must match exactly what the IRS has on file.  This goes down to the spelling of your business legal name, the address, and the TIN itself.  The Chosen Payments team does a monthly scan to ensure the validity of each one of our merchants.  If you come back invalid you will receive a call from us and all you need to do is assist the Chosen Payments representative in validating the proper information with the IRS.  We are being extremely proactive to ensure there are no unnecessary fees added for having invalid information.  Should you have any further questions in regards to this process please direct them to your Account Executive.
